About Our Club

Welcome:
Thanks for your interest in MOMS (MOMS Offering Moms Support) Club! Our chapter is very open to new members. In fact, you probably won’t be the only new person. We are growing month to month. Although some of us have lived here for years, some of us are new to the area or new to MOMS Club. We all have one thing in common- MOMS Club introduced us to other moms like us...moms who became our friends!

About our Chapter:
We are a non-profit support group for stay-at-home moms or moms that work part time. Some of our activities include a monthly recipe exchange, park days, smaller playgroups, monthly “field trips/activities” for the kids, and a Moms Night Out (our only non-kid event). We are also involved in community projects to benefit Chandler families and children. (i.e. donations, fundraisers, volunteer work)

Meetings:
All of our meetings and almost all activities are during the day, when at-home mothers need the support. Activities take place at public venues (such as a local park, restaurant, or stores) and others are hosted by members in their homes (such as recipe exchanges and play dates).

Bring your child(ren):
Our only non-child event is our monthly MNO (Moms Night Out). Otherwise, children are expected and encouraged to come! You don’t have to bring your child(ren) to attend an event, but if you do please remember that you are responsible for their safety and behavior. Sometimes, a member volunteer may watch the children (such as at the Monthly Business Meeting), but most of the time we are all together, mothers and children.

Dues:
As part of the International MOMS Club, we do have a membership fee of $25.00. This fee is due each year the same month as the month you join the club. You may attend two public events before deciding to become a member. We understand that being an at-home mom may mean a tight budget for your family. If the dues would be a hardship, please talk to one of your board members.

T/Th Playgroup Tour of a Fire Station

What a fun and educational tour we had at Gilbert's Fire Station #1. The fire fighters were so nice and showed us all over their beautiful 2 story station. They have 4 poles and 2 slides to go down if needed. The trucks were a big hit and each child go their own fire fighter hat to take home. It was such a fun and memorable morning!

Great Job Moms!

A big thank you to all the moms that donated to our Soldier Ryan over in Iraq. He will be getting 6 boxes filled with wrapped items. We had over 75 items donated that he and his squad can use, enjoy, and share. In each box there was a picture or nice note from a MOMS Club member/family. Thanks for taking the time to help out a soldier that does so much for our country! Feel free to keep sending letters/items if you like while he is deployed. (Felicity has his address if you need it)

Business Meeting

We had Detective Thompson come speak at our meeting about keeping children safe on the Internet. Below the slide show are some tips to keep your kids safe. In the nursery the kids enjoyed playing, having a snack, and making jewelry out of fruit loops.

Safety Tips:
*Educate about the dangers of providing information (location, passwords, etc.)
*Encourage communication (have your child(ren) walk you through the programs)
*Keep the computer in a public place
*Monitor your child's Internet activity time
*Have them give you their passwords
*Use site privacy settings
*Create a list of "authorized" websites
*Consider monitoring software

Mom and Tot Lunch

We had a fun lunch at Chick-fil-A on Monday. The restaurant was kind enough to put a bunch of tables together for us along with goodie bags for the kids and coupons for the moms. The cow came out to say hi to the kids which was a hit with most of them and tears for a few of them. :)

Ice Cream Day Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone that came to our fundraiser at Cold Stones on Monday. We will be giving the money raised to A New Leaf “The Autumn House”, which is a domestic abuse shelter for women and children in Mesa AZ. What a yummy way to make some money for those in need!
